To The Future by Galileo Galilei

(dammit this is turning into a Japanese music blog)

Got bored this morning and made a rough translation of the Gundam AGE opening.

If people read this, they’d probably be mad that I’m translating 明日 (lit. tomorrow) as “future.” Frankly, every time I hear the word in a song it’s referring to the near future or the general future more than literally the next sunrise. Deal.

As we looked up into the dawning sunlight

The clouds began to pour upon us

Like a song that pierces straight into your heart

It was like time had started

and I knew in my heart that this truly was

the path that led to hope

The window of the heavens opened up

and pain shot into my chest

It was too bright

The age of evolution, the song of evolution

They’re pushing, pushing, pushing, pushing

so we don’t get left behind

The endless, the eternal

Future, future, future, future

We’re already on our way there
